Appeal after death of cyclist
Saturday 14th August, 2010

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in Wigan.

At 4.35pm on Friday 13 August 2010, police were called to Heaton Street in Standish by the ambulance service.

The 66-year-old man had been found collapsed by members of the public while still on a pedal cycle, and paramedics attended.

The cyclist was taken to the Wigan Royal Infirmary but died shortly afterwards.

Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened prior to the man's death to come forward.
