|Tribute to Andrew Bolton - Wigan
The family of Andrew Bolton, the man who died in a collision in Standish have paid tribute to him.
Andrew’s wife Helen said: “Andrew was somebody who you couldn’t help but love, he had such a big heart and he adored his two children, Reece and Aaron.
“Their faces would light up when they saw him and run straight to him. He was such a good dad.
“Andrew was just special, he meant everything to me. We had been friends for years and I loved him.
“I am absolutely lost and I cannot breathe.”
Andrew’s parents said: “It is as if we are in a nightmare and we have not come out of it.
“We feel sick to our stomachs and just cannot get our heads around what has happened.”
Andrew Bolton, 35, from Standish was riding his Honda motorbike when he collided with a Mini Cooper convertible on Preston Road at about 8.30pm on Saturday 8 May 2010.
He was taken to Wigan Royal Infirmary where he later died.
Police are continuing to appeal to a group of people who stopped at the scene. They were in a car and spoke to local residents, but had left before the police arrived.
