Stay and Play – fun for the under 5s at the Monaco
Tuesday 27th April, 2010

There’s fun and games for the kids – and plenty of education too – at Hindley’s Monaco Ballroom every Monday starting very soon (Monday 10 May 2010).

Sure Start are inviting parent and carers with children between 0 and 5 years old to a session of lively activities from half ten to twelve noon, or from half one to three pm each Monday.

“Booking isn’t necessary – just come along,” says Wigan Council’s Kelly Stones, who works at the Hindley Sure Start Centre. “There’s so much to do for all interests and abilities under 5 – everyone is welcome.”

In the morning and afternoon sessions, qualified children's centre workers will be there to support parents and to offer advice on play and development.

And once a month, there will be a bouncy castle and inflatables available so the children and parents can have the opportunity to go wild.

Members of Sure Start don’t have to pre-book for this session - they can just turn up. Non members are also welcome and will be encouraged to join up for free membership in order to benefit from the activities Sure Start has to offer.

Sure Start Children’s Centres bring together childcare, early education, health and family support services for families with children under 5 years old. Sure Start works with parents-to-be, parents and carers and children to promote the physical, intellectual and social development of babies and young children so that they can flourish at home and when they get to school.
