Wigan and Leigh Housing continues to provide quality advice

The Housing Options Advice Service provided by Wigan and Leigh Housing has been recognised for its excellent services. It has recently had confirmation that its award for the Community Legal Services (CLS) Quality Mark is to continue, following a successful inspection by The Assessment Network.

The CLS Quality Mark standard places particular emphasis on how the service is run and the quality of the service received by customers. This award recognises the housing options advice service provided across all of Wigan and Leigh Housing, including the Area Housing Offices, the Property Shops, Contact Centre and the specialist advice service provided by the Housing Options Advice Centre, based at Platt Bridge.

This award follows hot on the heels of an ongoing programme of services improvements within the housing options and homelessness service, with projects ranging from developing information leaflets to improving the way customers access different parts of the service.

Marjorie Marsden, vice-chair of the Wigan and Leigh Housing Board, said ““It is great to get external recognition that the advice services we provide to our customers are of such a high standard. We were told the inspector was particularly impressed with the commitment among our staff to the value of the service they are providing and the difference it makes to people’s lives. This is in line with the ethos of Wigan and Leigh Housing and our vision to provide quality services, as well as support vulnerable people ”

The award is valid for two years, when there will be a further inspection. During this time, the advice service will be continuing to deliver improvements to its service and challenge itself to increase customer satisfaction with the service they receive.
