Three armed men stole designer watches after raiding a jewellers in Wigan.

At 5:20pm on Friday 4 December 2009, the men, armed with a sawn off shotgun, entered Goldsmiths jewellers on Market Street.

The offenders threatened three members of staff, who activated the alarm system.

The offenders smashed open the display cabinet and stole a number of expensive watches.

They left in a dark saloon, which was later found burnt out on Miry Lane, Wigan.

The men were all wearing black clothing with balaclavas and scarves covering there faces. They also wore blue gloves and one was carrying a large black bag with them.

Detective Constable David Bunce said: "These men have gone into a store and pointed a sawn off shotgun into the faces of three women who were getting on with their daily jobs.

"We will not let them get away with it.

"Maybe somebody has offered you a Rolex watch at a fraction of the price? Any information you can provide us with will help."
