|Armed robbery at travel agent
A man stole thousands of pounds during an armed robbery at a travel agent in Wigan.
The offender went into Thomas Cook on Garswood Street in Ashton in Makerfield at 5pm on Wednesday 16 September armed with a knife.
He forced staff to hand over cash, foreign currency and travellers' cheques before running out of the shop.
Detective Constable Katherine Andrews from Wigan CID said: "Although no one was injured the staff in the store were terrified the offender would use the knife he had threatened them with and have been traumatised by the ordeal.
"It is vital we catch this man as he is clearly dangerous and needs to be behind bars. If anyone has any information I would urge them to call me."
The offender is described as white, around 5ft 8in tall, of thin build and was wearing glasses, a black jacket with the hood up, a dark scarf and blue jeans. He spoke with a Liverpudlian accent.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wigan CID on 0161 856 7352 or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
