|Woman killed in Wigan collision named
A 19-year-old woman who died following a traffic collision in Wigan has been named.
Phillipa Campbell from Hawkley Hall, was a passenger in an MG sports car when it collided with a fence on Warrington Road (A49) in Newtown, at 3am on Friday 28 August 2009.
Police and fire officers found Phillipa, and a 21-year-old man, trapped inside the car.
Both had to be cut free and were taken to Royal Wigan Hospital.
Phillipa died a short time later. The man, aged 21, remains in a critical condition.
Warrington Road was closed for several hours.
