Comments Having spent the past week doing "homework" on Wigan, it was sheer pleasure to come across your site.
It is FANTASTIC, the best site I have come across. I've been a couple of times, and love Wigan, especially the people, they are so warm and friendly. I have been singing Wigan's praises so much that now my 16 yr old daughter and her friends want to see for themselves!!
We will be spending a week there in August.

Comments Would like to hear from any relatives. My grandfather, William Henry Shaw, was born in Wigan in 1910, the youngest of 10 children.
He marrried Myrtle Smith in 1935 and lived in Suffolk where he was a policeman. They had 3 daughters - Jean, Janet and Sandra. A few of his sisters were Alice, Cissy, Mabel and Phyllis. Thanks!

Comments A really good site. It broughts lots of memories flooding back. I left Orrell, Wigan in 1969, but still did pretty good on your Wigan Speyk. Loved the pictures of the pubs. I was born and lived for 28 years only a hundred yards from the Old Engine in Kitt Green, one of your featured pubs.
