As R&C says, likely to be the fan then. They aren't built for long service TBH. May be worth you giving the case internals a clean whilst your at it, get rid of the dust etc.

Open the case up, you'll be amazed how much dust gets sucked into the PC. Be sure to switch it off 1st, and then earth yourself before touching anything inside.
The fans get all sorts of crud on them, give them a gentle brush with a small paint or make up brush whilst hoovering inside.
Then hoover al the holes in the case and Power supply unit.
The buzzing noise is likely to be the fans out of balance due to the crud build up.

My computer makes an intermittant buzzing noise,it sounds like the noise that can be heard near an electrical sub station, when it occurs I can stop it by just moving it slightly. Does anyone know what could cause it.?

Try lifting the computer from where it is resting and if the noise stops, the shelf that its on is vibrating
