It makes me wonder why people want to emigrate there in the first place when you have rubbish telly.

Then theres the snakes and all sorts of biting bugs and spiders, not forgetting the plagues flys.

We have a telly program called Wanted Down Under and they take a family who are thinking about emigrating to Australia for a week to let them get the feel of the place, and most of the men are only interested in a swimming pool and the woman wants a walk in wardrobe.

There dont think about how far away the nearest school and supermarkets are.

But it seem a lot give it a try but I think they must be mad to be emigrating in the present climate, because everything in Australia cost twice as much as it does here in England.

If you are worried about beasties then don't come....it is what you are used to.....it is a lot warmer here of course, I haven't walked through snow for nearly 50 years.....I don't think you can judge a place by a tv reality show.....don't know Mick....I like living here.....simple,it is what I am used to......only 21 hours via Dubai now..... Very Happy

You will like it Liz because your settled, and you went when it was a good time to go.

But what Im saying is its not a good place to go nowadays with the exchange rate and the price of buying house in Australia.

BTW Ive been to Perth quiet a few times and used to own a house there in the 70s.

Have you never returned to the UK since you left.

Just an addition to my last post.....if you want to live in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, or any of the up north glam spots then you pay for it....The housing in Adelaide is reasonable....and everything is close...the airport is 15 minutes from the city....in Melbourne it cost us $48 to get into the city from the airport....so everything in Adelaide is so much easier to get to.you should have a look on google maps....I have the iMaps app which is very good for getting into streets anywhere....Try the Hope Valley South Australia area near the reservoir..... Smile
