I bet them who went round protesting about saving Mesnes park feel proper daft when they can see what a marvelous job is being made of the restoration.

Shocked

It should look nice, with all the millions being spent on it.

It shouldn't have been allowed to go to rack and ruin in the first place.

Expect a lot more flowers etc, around town next year too as they'll be going for gold.

Are there any photos of the fountain, believe a replica was being made of one in Lurgan.

My Grandad was a gardener who worked in the park and I used to love going into the greenhouses at the back when I was little. I love the smell of geraniums and chrysanthemums because it always reminds me of him.

They haven't started on that yet Mags. The flower bed has been emptied so they may be starting soon.

Arrow, do you think you could get a pic when it's in place. Although i was born and brought up in Wigan I have some in laws in Lurgan who are interested to see where a replica of their fountain is going to stand.

I particularly like the high contrast in the last shot.
Is that frost on the grass?
It will be the end of the bedding plants if it is.
