Great photos PB. I'll be there myself in about a month. I liked the one with the statue in the flat cap the best.

It looks a lot cleaner when its covered in snow.

Wigan pier quarter is a good modern name for it, just like the northern quarter of modern Manchester.

It will save the residents having to give a complicated answer to where they live when asked.

It wont be to long when most of Wigan town centre shops will be made into residential apartments and we will then maybe have a Standishgate, Market, and Mesnes quarters.
