My sister in law has just rung me. She is having problems booting up her Computer. It starts to Boot Up gets so far then restarts, to boot up again. Can she Boot Up in SAFE MODE then do a System restore? I have told her to try this but she can't seem able to do it. If it can be done? Can you give me instructions on how to do it?
THANKS. She hasn't much money. So I said I would ask on here, to see if someone could help, before she has to take it to the Computer Repair Man Sad

Click Start and then click Shut Down.

In the drop-down list of the Shut Down Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.

As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.

Use the arrow keys to highlight the appropriate safe mode option, and then press ENTER.

i would suggest selecting LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION.

Dont connect to the internet, and do a virus scan. Then scan with ADAWARE or SPYBOT.
If it is a virus, then system restore wont sort it.

Hope this helps
