With council housing being greatly in demand and folks in Wigan having to sleep in doorways for lack of housing; I'd say for someone to do this they are more than scumbags. These were perfectly good houses and having been built late 1950s early 1960s they would have lasted for many more decades, instead it is now deemed cheaper to demolish than to repair them.

I've just looked on Google maps, they seemed in perfectly good condition in 2009.
