Maureen I traced my mother's family tree back to when great great grandparents came to Wallgate in Wigan from County Clare. I went to the village where they came from a few years ago and it was beautiful. Such a shame they had to leave.
Why did they have to leave when there was a potato famine. Was there nothing else for them to eat. I also wondered how they got from Liverpool to Wigan but someone said they would have got lifts on horse and carts.
It's fascinating.
