Music has charms to soothe the savage breast.......If music be the food of love play on......I LOVE MUSIC......It lifts the spirits & feeds the soul.

I like most music except :-
Current pop & all pop since the eighties - non of your Arctic Chiefs & Kaiser Monkeys!!!.
Country & western.
Some jazz.
Hip hop, bip bop, flip flop.

I love classical especially descriptive pastoral like Vaughan Williams ' The Lark Ascending' or to make you melt into an armchair - Delius 'On hearing the first cuckoo in spring'.

I'm a real folkie, favourite band Steeleye Span - still going strong. Being Irish I love Irish bands Danu, Solas, The Chieftains & Horslips. Also like Fairport Convention & The Incredible String Band & Breton musician Alan Stivell.

Other bands from my era - The Strawbs, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd & saving the best till last The Beatles & Mike Oldfield.........I could go on..........but I won't.
