I often wonder who 'Soft Mick' is.
Others - as a kid I would told not to go near the swampy ground/algae covered ponds... or Nanny Green Teeth would get me.
Another phrase that I find amusing is... "I wouldn't do that if they gave me 5 thousand quid!" Who are these people in the background with an abundance of money who are waiting for someone to do what they don't want to do and then send a big parcel of cash...
A mate of mine thought Aspull was windswept and 10 dgrees colder than Wigan, I remember him saying I wouldn't live in Aspull if they gave me a gowd (gold) diamond. I'm sure there isn't such a thing, but my mate lived in a tiny council house in Beech Hill. I'd be off like a shot to Aspull if I got something worth a 'gowd diamond'!
No disrepect to Beech Hill by the way - I was brought out on Council estates in my youth.
