Hugh, your not the only one to have left Wigan, Joe (who's spelling you corrected) lives in Wales, and I live in Suffolk and haven't lived in Wigan for more than 30 years.

I certainly wouldn't say my life has been much improved since I left Wigan, I miss the place, the friendship of Wigan people, and their lovely sense of humour.

I have a very good life, but it's different, not an improvement than I had in Wigan. we moved because my husbands job took him to London, and but for that we would still be there.
