Went to see the film "The Keeper" tonight.

The City connection aside, it is highly recommended for anyone whether they have a football interest or not.

What a powerful and emotional film it was. Although I knew the script, having read his biography and being aware of City's history, seeing his remarkable story unfold on screen was quite belittling. I accidentally found myself in the great man's presence in Spain in 2011. He had a special aura about him, a real gentleman.

I came out of the cinema with two particular thoughts:

1) What a soft, mard, embarrassing shower of s****e our footballers are today, rolling around and feigning injury when all they have is a bruised ego. Even a broken neck couldn't stop Bert. He was made of sterner stuff and had dignity.

2) With the snooker table pitches of today, the likes of Best and Bell would be on another planet. What a shame we never got to see them on our pitches. Despite the colour of his shirt, Best would have had defenders even more dizzy than he did in his day.
