Alf Ramsey had Knowles and Peter Osgood in his little black notebook for Mexico.

Everyone who followed football at that time knew of Peter's ability. Bill Shankly and Bill Nick made several attempts to sign him, but he stayed loyal to Wolves until his spiritual call.

He is, and always will be, my football hero.
