Unless I am missing something the use of the word great talking about Peter Knowles is something of an overstatement. Played in aa Wolves team that, as now, was up and down between the first and second division. Never won a solitary England cap, never won a major trophy or anything of note. Not even the most recognized footballer in the family. On the plus side he was of RL stock as his father played for Wakefield Trinity. I suppose he may have become GREAT at knocking on doors and disturbing people later in life.
