Thatcher is not to blame. Council houses were being sold off long before her reign, from 1936? 1957 at least!

Bentlegs, a couple of weeks ago, we finished working on a two bedroom bungalow in Radcliffe for an estate agent who'd bought it to rent out.
Last day, the girl rolled up to show prospective tenants round. In between viewings (there was 4 viewings booked for the afternoon) we were chatting and she told me the rent was £900 a month. The first to view that afternoon, a couple with a small boy, accepted it straight away.
They go like hot cakes, even at that price!
