Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Yes John, the one called, and still called, 'A Court', is 'Squeeze Belly Entry'. That's it's local nickname anyway. I can imagine there being three entries, or ginnels, linking Gerard Street with Heath Lane (Road), Squeeze Belly Entry at the top, another at the bottom and one in the middle called 'Middle Ginnel'? It certainly seems to be a 'formal title' anyway, seeing as it's on an OS map. Weren't we a old fashioned lot, though, in the 'olden days'. Fancy calling a road a 'ginnel' or an 'entry'! We're so advanced these days, what, calling our roads things like 'Aspenwood', 'The Parchments', 'Woodedge' and 'Oakenfields'. Ooooops, sorry, I nearly pi***d myself laughing there!
