'Middle Ginnel' is marked on Old Maps. It shows it as being off Heath Lane (now Heath Road) towards Gerrard Street and directly opposite the Golden Lion public house, round about the site of Kwik Save (Somerfield). If you want to look on Old Maps, you will have to search for Haydock, then go north and east until you come to Ashton, as Ashton in Makerfield isn't listed.
