Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

On about 'Chippys' I grew up in Bamfurlong in the 1960's and in the late 1960's the only chippy I recall was the one which was in the row of terraces opposite the Bamfurlong Hotel near the railway bridge, these were knocked down circa 1971 after we had moved away to Pemberton, but as I recall 'Finneys' across the road installed a frying range and tried to take over from the demolished 'chippy' but I don't think it lasted
