Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Despite what is being said on here by a someone who works for the Council, the Museum complex was deliberately run down by the Council who on signing the contract with the property development company made no effort to publicise the tourist attraction with for example coach tour operators and visitors from other parts of the country.

When Wigan Athletic got into the Premiership, we were told that visitors would come to Wigan for the weekend, vist the museum complex and watch a Latic's game. What happen to thst idea?

The fact remains that the people of Wigan were conned by the Council with the promise of jobs in a Civic Theatre, Pub/Restaurant and Hotel. One by one, a excuse was made not to build any one them.

If there is one thing, Wigan Council is good at, it is making false promises. You only have to look at how many other jobs and road schemes have been promised but never materialised.

Nothing to do with rumours, but simple fact!
