Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

What a load of rubbish. The Council got a masive offer off a property development company to build apartments on the site. A development which was supposed to include a civic theatre, hotel and pub/restaurant. All gone by the board and instead we got a extra block of apartments incorporating a high price pizza outlet.
The Council made no effort to publicise the museum after the contract was signed and actually ran it down because the property development company did not want visitors in the area of the apartments.
Many of the apartments are in fact empty.
