This shows how old I am it used to be called POOLES it started opposite Woolworths and ended nearly at the Ritz they sold every thing including furniture . I used to ask my Mother to take me in Woolworths and then when we got to the side door i used to say =oh lets go out this way== , as it fasinated me seeing the men out side the Furniture windows saying ==come in madam and sit down you will never know how comfortable the 3 piece suites are if you dont try them 1.6 (one shilling and sixpence) will cover it pay once a week , much to my disgust as I wanted to try them ,mother would hurry me past , does any one else remember that
