I remember there being a fall out in the pubs because the lager glasses held a dead pint and the craze was to have a pint of lager and lime. This was OK till the bar staff started charging for the lime so you were paying for a pint of lager plus lime but were getting a short measure with the lager. One or two bar staff were threatened with trading standards/weights and measures. People got round this by ordering lime in a separate glass then having a sip of the lager and putting the lime into the glass. The bar staff were not happy because it created more washing up
