Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Back in the sixties my next door neighbour (my mate's dad) used to go fishing at the marine lake in Southport. He constantly bought back young eels which were called snig in Wigan. Very tasty when fried and a bit of salt.
Occasionally he would bring back a huge conger eel - he showed one to me one evening - it wasn't dead and bit him quite severely!
