Good evening all, hope that you are all keeping well. Thought that I would log in on this visit to the site. Trixie, how is Eddie keeping, have you been on any world cruises recently, havn't spoken to Margaret for a couple of weeks, she seems to be keeping well. Dougie, you seem to be still leading the personalities and residential historical side, interesting that people are discussing the Post office and chip shop locations, I remember visiting them both, the post offices were first in one of the block of houses opposite where the church hall is now, and then later in one of the row of houses opposite the Church gates. The chip shops were first in a wooden shed at the back of Mrs Deacons shop, and then there was one, as people have reported, on the corner of Rectory Rd and Booths Brow Rd. At the other end of this row of houses in Rectory Rd was a grocery shop I seem to remember, and I think that the Davies family lived in one of the houses in the block on Booths Brow Rd. It is interesting that Keith Fox and I had a number of exchanges of correspondence on this area of Rectory Rd not long before he passed away. On the family front, last Saturday would have been Dads 120th birthday, next Tuesday will be my daughter Suzanne's 50th birthday and on Sunday, my granddaughter Olivia will be 11, how time passes. Best wishes to you all.
