When I worked at Wigan council I remember going as far over the hill to Kings Moss and as near to Billinge centre to Coultshead Avenue, but only part of the road was within the boundary, they re-arranged that meandering boundary in the early 1990s with Wigan MBC ending at Longshaw and also part way up Crank Road.

It was the same at the other side of the borough with part of Worsley within Wigan MBC, that boundary was re-arranged also.
