Just one "N" too many,Flock,it actually should be pronounced Mah-noo-ka,as they do in Kiwi land because I think it is the name of a NZ bird,but the heap big white queen lady who came on big silver bird,pronounced it Ma-na-ka and of course the forelock tuggers followed suit.When I first came to Canberra in '67 I had one or two at the Wello but they knocked that down and it's now the Ridgeway.There's a few good watering holes I used to visit that have now gone,the clubs are allright but they have got me on to a new addiction,the pokies.There's a place in town called "The Wig & Pen" where they serve all kinds of boutique beers,two of my sons took me there once and I tried a small one of the blonde(the beer that is) but as I was driving that was about it,of course that's why they took me.My eldest son thinks he's a connoisseur of ales and beers but basically he's just a pisspot,anyway let me know when you are in town and I may take you up on your offer.
