Everyone regardless of firewall and anti virus is technically at risk when you use the internet. The only way to keep ya computer safe is to pack it away in a box and hope damp doesn't get it lol.
There are free anti virus software programmes available to download, try pc world site or google avg free anti virus, make sure its the FREE Version. Everyone needs an antivirus and firewall .Windows xp has a built in firewall, but make sure you get your updates regular.
There was an option in our older programmes where you could create a start up disc, so can you tell us wot system you are on is it windows 98 by any chance?
