It's the same in the Haulage industry, there are more polish driver's on the road than our own, greedy employers paying them less wages, and undermining safety reg's
My mate works for a haulage firm that transport carpet's (Preston area )
They asked for a pay rise due to the hours they were working, the boss called all his drivers into his office on a friday afternoon and told them there was no chance of a pay rise and if they didn't like it they could leave, he then showed them a letter from a polish driver:
Dear Sir
I am a polish driver looking for work in the uk, I will drive your truck for 125 pounds a week as long as I can have the truck to sleep in until I find somewhere to live
Needless to say my mate walked out, and was joined by 2 others, the next thing we will get is "Well, the poles will drive for 125 a week so you can do the same " yeh right !
