Well, it wasn't in Wigan, but looking at Tommy's link, it looks like it was possibly driver error in that the wagon driver may have taken a turn a little too sharply, kicking the truck out of balance with the extra weight on the back, and resulting in the crane tipping over. It doesn't look like the lorry overturned according to the picture. Or, the weight of the crane was too heavy for the truck and that went first. Chicken or egg situation?

However it happened, Health & Safety will be on the job to assess what happened, especially as that child is lucky to still be alive.
