Surfer Tom I find it harder to walk down Wigan Lane than up it and not much option because there is never any parking at the hospital. Visiting on most wards was 2-3 and 6-7 but now it is 12-8 because of the building work and even less space to park. Yesterday I was a passenger for a change and my driver found a parking space in the hospital grounds so no walking up or down Wigan Lane. When I was in my early 50's I went to Leigh Infirmary to have tests on my knees and was told I needed a left knee replacement and my right knee was not much better. I asked for a new knee and was told I was too young . but would be put on a waiting list. This year I am 70 and still waiting for now probably both knee replacements
