This thread brought back memories of when I was a lad. We used to 'hang around' in a mate's house at weekends, playing cards, drinking, eating etc.. This 'mate', however, was a bit nuts. One mad stunt he pulled was as follows .....
He had a grandmother, aged about 90, who sat quiet, on a rocking chair in the lounge, watching anything at all on the telly. She'd laugh at the test-card !
Anyroadup, we were all sat in their kitchen and "mother" which they called her, was fast asleep on her chair in the lounge, when he said, "watch this"!
He crept into the lounge with a can of lighter fluid and squirted it all over mother's soles on her slippers (them with fur round the top what old ladies wear, laaaaike), got his lighter out and lit her feet.
They erupted into large flames, at which he shouted, at the top of his voice, "MOTHER! MOTHER! YOUR FEET'S ON FIRE"!
Well, she woke up all of a start and started dancing round the lounge stamping her feet on the floor shouting, "AAAAAAH, YOU DAFT BUGGER"! while that mon crawled round after her batting the flames out with a cushion. At the time, it was hilarious but, thinking back, it was proper tight. As I said, she was over 90.
Not normal behaviour really, but he was as mad as a hatter and y'aft laff !
