Roylew, yes I liked Ken Goodwin as well, with his childish/innocent way of speaking. After seeing this thread I looked up The Comedians from the 1970s on You Tube, and they’re all there. It’s a fantastic watch.

Who, though, can remember the Wigan comedian who did the clubs? For the life of me I can’t remember his name but he was brilliant. He didn’t tell jokes as such, he just talked about Wiganners and Wigan in general, always mentioning Hardybutts.

There was him, and another Wigan comedian who was very thin and always had to sit on a stool on stage because he was quite frail. He too just talked about Wigan and was very funny.

They’re both probably no longer with us as they were getting on a bit, even back in the late 90s/early 20s when I last saw them.
