This was highlighted on a recent broadcast of the Martin Lewis Money Show. He brought it to attention at the beginning of the year but said he was still gathering information to see if would be pursued. Since then, he dedicated a full show to the issue, in February I think, and said the practice was widespread and would potentially be bigger than the PPI scandal. You don't need a specialist firm to take it up on your behalf, in fact the Martin Lewis website has a link that takes you through it. Enter your details, must be before January 2021 when the investigation started and the practice ceased, the claim is registered and then it's a wait to see the outcome of the FCA investigation. He did also say don't wait for this announcement, probably in September, register your claim NOW as it may get timed out. No need to get the ' No win, no fee ' men involved. Go on the website and have a look. I've personally registered 2 claims with 2 seperate maunfacturers, one French and one German. This may turn out to be a monster so get your claim/s in.
