I have mentioned on a previous thread that my alcohol consumption has risen. (I have to keep a record, 'cause of health reasons)

On TV just it said UK wine consumption has increased by more than 500%.

UK consumption of alcohol had been falling progressively for quite some time. In our current circumstances, this trend seems to have reversed.

I can understand why people are drinking more.

But why has wine consumption in particular increased, at more than twice the rate of other tipples?
