Beryl, you are correct, the idea of New Years Eve fireworks started at the Millenium and has continued sonce.
I think ‘Bonfire Night’ fireworks have always been around, but have started to get earlier and later each side of Bonfire Night every year.
It’s time they were banned and only organized firework displays allowed, much safer and more sociable for everybody.
