General (General discussion, talk about anything.)
Ted Heath took us into the then EEC on the 1stJanuary 1973 and there was a lot of bother about it, because folk said that he should have had a referendum about it, and then as a result of joining the EEC and the being part of the Common Agricultural Policy, prices shot up, which upset people even more, so Harold of the Labour Party and Soviet Spy, he promised a referendum on continued membership of the EEC if he was elected to power, which he was in 1974 when the miners brought down the Conservative Heath Government, and this was whupsies finest hour
After another election in October 1974 to get a majority, Harold of the Labour Party and Soviet Union puppet, he held a referendum in June 1975 on continued membership of the EEC
At the time I was too young to vote, but I was studying 'O' Level Government & Politics, so I had an interest in politics, and I was in favour of remaining in the EEC because It seemed to be the future of things to come, because it was mooted then that in the future you would be able to travel to countries within the EEC without the need for a passport, and you would also be able to live and work in the EEC, without the need for any type of permit, so it sounded exciting, and I thought that people who wanted to leave the EEC were owd fuddy duddys, and now I am an owd fuddy duddy
