Tis that seson of the year once again. Fresh nuts for shelling on supermarket fruit shelves.
For some years now, have gotten used to soft-shelled almonds. Weekend's shop yielded variety with quite hard shells.
Reminded me of when I was young, when we did not seem to see any of the soft variety.
Oh the frustration of trying to crack open an almond.
I have broken many a pair of nutcrackers trying to crack almond shells.
