Have used Avast Free A/V for more than a decade. I had believed they were kosher.

Now I have begun to have doubts.

1 Nag-ware aspect has dramatically increased. Every couple of days now, suggests I should have some feature, and the consequent click through eventually take me to a paywall.

2 scare-ware: tries to sell me a lie concerning my passwords being vulnerable. I know that what it tells me is not true. Do not like the idea that such a program should even have access to my passwords!

3 Regularly asks me to click to update one of my drivers, telling me a newer version is available. After clicking through numerous pages, eventually I learn there is NOT!

4 And just, Malwarebytes did a scan, not prompted by me, and reported a threat: adware. Follow up revealed it to be in a download from Avast, which had not been initiated by myself.

Anyone else been experiencing any difficulties with Avast?

Time for a change maybe. Recommendations?
