Bad spelling and lack of punctuation drives me potty, Broady! I often see in the obituaries column of The Wigan Observer, "Mrs. So-and-So of Abram, formally of Ince", when it should be "formerly of Ince". The person paying for the notice may be unaware that the spelling is wrong, but SURELY the EDITOR should correct it before it goes to Press....that's his/her job! And signs on vans...."Fitted Kitchen's"....why the apostrophe? Again, the customer paying for the signage may be unaware of the correct punctuation, but surely the signwriter should know....it's his/her job!
