General   (General discussion, talk about anything.)

When I was at university, a lifetime ago, I used to work in an opticians in the holidays and weekends. The rep used to come and sell frames which were for about £1, £2 (in those days) and they would go on the shelves for £25 upwards. I hear it's much the same today but much dearer. So a basic plastic frame is between £2 to £5 now and, if designer, goes on the shelves for £50 upwards. Think about the amount of plastic needed for a pair of specs!
The lenses are, of course, more expensive and adds to the cost.
I have always thought the charges for specs needs investigating.
