Its all about reliability

What is stopping me from setting up my own DNA analysis company in my back room? You could send me samples, but I could just throw them in the bin and send you back a letter saying anything I wanted to and charge £100 a pop! You would be non the wiser. The industry is not regulated and people pray on the gullibility of others. How do we know that is not what is going on here?

The government and the courts will only recognise results from about a dozen companies and their tests cost a lot more than £80.

Is there any sort of disclaimer in the paperwork? I bet there is.
