I have never smoked but have worked in pubs before the smoking ban, and it didn't bother me. What I DID object to was smoking in restaurants where people are eating. We once went in a Harry Ramsden's restaurant and requested a non-smoking area. We were seated just yards away from the smoking area. We ordered our food which arrived just as the smokers finished their meal, and they all lit up cigarettes. We ate our food with smoke literally passing over our plates....it was AWFUL!
