The Labour movement we grew up with didn't have to face the challenges of globalisation and mass migration. It had the room to manoeuvre on redistribution of wealth. Nobody has yet worked out how a social democratic party can appeal to the masses when there's little or no opportunity for wealth redistribution.
Jeremy Corbyn has a difficult problem shaping a policy on free movement of people. The top 25 areas voting remain and the top 25 areas voting out for Brexit are labour held parliamentary seats.
